Size 22 Pattern


Needles:  #8, #10 Size:   22 Gauge:  3.5 sts = 1" 5.00 rws = 1" Estimated Ydg:  264
      
Back
With smaller needles, cast on 46 sts.
Work 1x1 rib for 8 rws [1.5"].

Rib-to-Body Inc Row
Work 9 [inc 1 in next st, work 8, inc 1 in next st, work 9] 1x.
[inc 1 in next st, work 8] 2x.

With larger needles, work in pat st until piece meas 7.5" [row 30].
Place underarm markers.

Continue in pat st until piece meas 12.5" from the start [row 56].
On next row, bind off center 14 sts, attach another ball of yarn and work across row.
On next row, dec 1 st at each neck edge.
Continue in pat st until piece meas 13" [row 58].

Bind off 17 sts across each shoulder.

Front
Work as for back, including all shaping,
and, at the same time
when piece meas 10.5" [row 46]

Begin Neck Shaping
On next row, work 20, attach another ball of yarn, bind off center 10 sts,
and work across row.  Working both sides at once, dec 1 st at each neck edge,
every other row 3x.

Continue in pat st until piece meas 13" [row 58].

Bind off 17 sts across each shoulder.

Work sleeves.

Sleeves
With smaller needles, cast on 22 sts.
Work 1x1 rib for 8 rws [1.5"].

Rib-to-Sleeve-lnc Row
[Work 7, inc 1 in next st, work 6 inc 1 in next st] 1x
work 7.

Sleeve Increases
With larger needles, work in pat st.
Inc 1 st on each side every 3 rws 2x.
Then every 4 rws 5x.

Continue in pat st until piece meas 7.5" [row 30].
Bind off 38 sts.

Finishing
Seam shoulders.
Sew in sleeves.
Seam sleeves.
Seam sides.

Standard Neck Finishing
With smaller size 16" circular needle, pick up 50 sts around neck edge.
Inc or dec as necessary on the first row to balance pattern.  Work in
desired ribbing for 1" or desired length.  Bind off loosely.
